About Me

Lora Ford has a doctorate in clinical psychology and is a licensed clinical psychologist. She is specializing in individual, couples, and group psychotherapy and maintains a private practice on Mercer Island which is located conveniently between Seattle and Bellevue.

With many years of experience as a clinician, in social services, and working in industry with the public, she has a vast amount of experience and training to draw upon. As a graduate of the Washington School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University she is currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are all aspects of relationships, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTDS, fears/phobias, life transitions, grief and loss, and adjustment to parenthood. Dr. Ford is a staff member of Seattle's long-running Fear of Flying Clinic.

In addition, Dr. Ford has presented at national conferences and to general audiences on topics ranging from forgiveness, overcoming fears, disaster mental health, and aspects of both infertility and parenting.

Dr. Ford works from an integrative and psychodynamic orientation. She strives to provide support, practical feedback, and insight oriented treatment to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She incorporates a blend of conventional and alternatives approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each unique client. With sensitivity and compassion she collaboratively works to help clients build on their strengths to identify and achieve life goals.
